Bridging the Gap Between Clinical Evidence and Your Lived Experience
If you’ve ever left a medical appointment feeling like your symptoms were “just part of getting older” or feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice online, you are in the right place.
I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with years of experience in Primary Care. As an ANP, I have the advanced clinical training to diagnose, prescribe, and manage complex health conditions—but my heart has always been in holistic, patient-centered care.
Why I Started This Blog
On a daily basis, I see women navigating the “menopause transition” with incredible resilience but very little support. I realised that while hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and clinical interventions are vital, empowerment through education is what truly changes a woman’s experience.
I created this space to:
- Demystify Perimenopause: Taking the guesswork out of those “is it just me?” moments.
- Translate the Science: Breaking down the latest research into actionable, everyday advice.
- Empower Your Advocacy: Giving you the tools (like my symptom trackers) to lead the conversation with your own medical team.
My Clinical Philosophy
I believe that menopause is not a “disease” to be cured, but a major life transition that deserves specialised clinical attention. Whether we are discussing HRT, lifestyle adjustments, or non-hormonal options, my goal is to help you move from surviving to thriving.
I’m glad you’re here. Let’s navigate this second act together.
“My passion for menopause care isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal. My own transition into menopause didn’t happen gradually; it was brought on early and abruptly following my treatment for breast cancer.
Navigating the symptoms of medical menopause while managing a cancer recovery gave me a unique perspective that a textbook never could. I understand the frustration of being a ‘complex case’ and the vital importance of finding safe, effective ways to reclaim your quality of life when the ‘standard’ options might not be on the table for you.”
Written by an NMC Registered Advaced Nurse Practitioner in the UK. Helping women bridge the gap between “surviving” perimenopause and building a health strategy that lasts a lifetime. Dedicated to bridging the gap between complex medical guidelines and the real-world needs of women in perimenopause
Clinical Note: I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, but I am not your provider. The information in this post is for educational purposes and does not replace a 1-to-1 medical consultation. Menopause symptoms are highly individual; please discuss any new symptoms or treatment plans with your healthcare team before making changes.
